Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Michael Robnak is a chiropractic doctor from St. Louis, Missouri. He is 28 years old and young enough to have fresh ideas, which include being well-versed in the Gonstead technique.
Dr. Robnak attended Westminster College in Fulton, MO, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Biology with a focus on Human Sciences. In 2015, he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Logan University in St. Louis, MO. During his time there, he also gained a background in Sports Rehabilitation.
Dr. Robnak has attended over 200 hours of Gonstead seminars and 25+ hours at various seminars and symposiums. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer and watching movies.
He is very dedicated and passionate about chiropractic and serving the Quad City area as a whole.
Gonstead System
Gonstead is all about precision. Doctors of the Gonstead System of Chiropractic spend more time examining and analyzing your body and your spine more than most other doctors.
There are multiple aspects that we use to determine where the subluxation is. We do this using the consultation (find out what the symptoms are), musculoskeletal and neurological exam (finding out what the subluxation is affecting), Thermographic evaluation (finding where in your spine the subluxation is putting pressure on your spine), as well as taking and analyzing full spine x-rays (figuring out where the subluxation actually is and how to fix it).
Dr. Clarence Gonstead was born July 24th, 1898 in a small town in South Dakota. When he was 19, he was bedridden with rheumatoid arthritis. He sought help for the condition from many medical paths, but it was chiropractic care by Dr. Olsen who helped give Gonstead relief from his condition.
Dr. Gonstead attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and graduated in 1923. He eventually opened his clinic in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin where he was the first chiropractor to use X-rays as a main component of his practice.
Gonstead had a background in mechanical engineering and brought that background into developing his own system of chiropractic. People from all over the world would fly in and see him to spend weeks at a time at his clinic getting adjusted by him.
In order to see the millions of patients that he did, he worked from the crack of dawn until 4 AM most days and nights and wouldn’t stop working until he was done seeing all of his patients that day.
Gonstead developed a system of chiropractic that was well ahead of its time and still is to this day, where only a select few doctors choose to put in the extra time and effort to finding the cause of the problem and not just chase the symptoms.

- Consultation: The consultation is all about you, what brought you into the office, what your problem is, how your symptoms are affecting you, and your health goals under chiropractic care. We care about not just getting you relief, but getting you healthy.
- Examination: The examination is used to determine just where the subluxation in your spine is and how it is affecting your body. A comprehensive (some say the most detailed chiropractic exam they’ve had) exam will be performed utilizing a variety of tools:
- Visualization: How the spine looks. Is there hair in certain spots and not others; is there visible inflammation and red, puffy areas; does it have an orange skin appearance; is there visibly tighter muscles on one side opposed to the other; how the spine looks when walking, etc.
- Static Palpation: How the spine feels to touch. Is it hot or cold; is there inflammation in certain areas; is there pitting edema where it feels like your finger is going over the bruise of an apple, etc.
- Motion Palpation: Once we have narrowed down the regions involved from palpation and visualization, it’s time to figure out how those segments move.
- Instrumentation: Using a delta T to find heat changes due to inflammation from subluxation.
- Full Spine X-Rays: These will allow us to see what your spine looks like and use that information to know where the subluxations are and how to fix them.
- The entirety of the initial visit should take about an hour. At the end of the examination and x-rays, Dr. Robnak will briefly explain to you what he found before rescheduling you for a subsequent visit. An adjustment may be given depending on the nature of the case involved.

Report of Findings: After analyzing all the findings from day 1, we create a treatment plan and let you know: what is wrong, how we plan to fix it, how long it will take, how much it will cost, as well as the different kinds of treatment plans offered.
We will give you no less than the absolute truth about what is going on in your body and what you will need to do to help it heal. YOU control how fast you want to get WELL. - Adjustment: Using specific manual (hands-on) adjusting, we will correct the subluxation. Each and every adjustment builds on the one before it.
